The Dutch company Heineken is the biggest brewer in Europe and the second largest in the world. They operate in 70 different markets and make 250 kinds of beer.

Rodić MB brewery was founded in 2003 . At the time when Rodić Company decided to sell the brewery it held 7% of Serbian beer market with annual production of 1.5 million hectolitres, placing it fourth – behind Apatin Brewery, Carlsberg Srbija, and Efes Srbija.

BRP acted as a strategic advisor to Heineken and the owner of MB Pivara, leading the acquisition team:

Acquisition

Mercator successfully acquired Rodić MB Trgovina for approx. $200 million.

Mercator is a Slovenian company and one of the biggest retail chains in the region of Southeast Europe.

Rodić MB Trgovina is one of the largest supermarket chains in Serbia, specialising in bulk family shopping.

Restructuring and Debt Advisory

Invej a.d. has successfully executed a financial restructuring of approx.$90 million of liabilities towards Swiss-Slovenian NLB InterFinanz AG.

Invej a.d. is a leading conglomerate of companies located in Serbia mainly active in the sphere of consumer goods and retail.

Together with Oaklins Austria of Vienna and several local law offices, BRP advised Invej a.d. on the financial restructuring of its liabilities towards NLB InterFinanz AG, including their sale to a financial investor. The team provided in-depth review and analysis of Invej a.d.‘s financial situation as well as developed strategic options and actual measures. In addition, the team supported Invej’s management team by structuring the negotiation approach towards main creditors, facilitating the sale process, liaising with all parties involved and identifying the non-core assets.
